ANALOGUE INPUT MODULES

ANALOGUE INPUT MODULES

There are two analogue input modules available for the VBOX, the ADC03 and the Mini Input Module. Connection is via the CAN bus, which means the modules can be placed very close to the sensors. This technique reduces noise compared with having long analogue signal cables running from the sensors to a main logging system.

CAN connectivity also means you can have multiple modules daisy chained around the vehicle, all sharing the same bus.

Each individual analogue channel can be separately configured for Units, Scale and Offset using the VBOX Windows software. These values are stored inside the ADC03, which then transmits "Real" values on the CAN bus to the VBOX. This means that the Software and the Multifunction display can show these values in real time.

ADC03

The ADC03 has 8 analogue input channels. This working range is ±200mV to ±50 Volts, with a resolution of 16bits at ±200mV and 24bits at ±50V. With such a wide input range, there is no need to select a voltage range, allowing very quick and easy setup.

The following is typical setup consisting of a VBOX IIDGPS, an ADC03 and a Multifunction Display. (The Multifunction display has been set to show a real time target graph of 15% for the linear potentiometer)

MINI INPUT MODULE

The Mini Input Module has 8 Analogue Inputs (14bit), 2 x K-Type Thermocouple Inputs and 3 Digital Frequency Inputs.
