Internal Battery for Video VBox prevents data
loss
Video VBox hardware has been enhanced with the
addition of an internal battery and tank circuit
inside every unit produced from 13th July, 2009,
to provide temporary power to the unit.
The battery, similar to that
used in an IPod prevents you from losing video
footage when the ignition is turned off at the
end of a session before the video file has been
closed correctly. It also enables logging to
continue for up to 15 seconds when he power is
cut. This caters for instances where the vehicle
power drops out for whatever reason, or even to
allow time to swap battery pack while recording.
If you bought a video VBox
before the tank circuit was introduced, hardware
upgrades are available.

CBR1000RR
launch
|
|
Protech Developments were invited to the recent
Australian Motorcycle Press launch of the Honda
CBR1000RR "Fireblade". Protech fitted both
Honda's Superbike and the new Fireblade with the
new VB20SL3. After mapping the Philip Island
Grand Prix circuit the VBOX recorded hot laps of
the 2 bikes measuring Lateral G, Lap times,
braking and acceleration rates. Glyn Griffiths,
National Marketing Manager for Honda MPE
Australia said; "Having the VBox at the
CBR1000RR launch provided some very useful data
to the attending press. The ability to compare
our new Fireblade to our Race teams Superbike
was a very interesting exercise, and really
demonstrated the ease of use and flexibility of
the VBox equipment". The new CBR1000RR was
consistently able to achieve cornering lateral g
of above 1.2 with Honda Australia Superbike
rider Glen Allerton aboard - an impressive
figure on road tyres. The bikes were also ridden
by ex 500cc Championship rider Daryl Beattie,
who was recording segments for the Australian
"RPM" television program. |
